If a search engine found the same article on 1000’s of different sites, it would be foolish for the search engine to return all those results, as if it wasn’t what the person was looking for, they would look elsewhere, or try a different search term, which would produce 1000’s of results for another article.

So what does that have to do with duplicated content. Well a search engine will grab one result and display it. It normally runs an algorithm to determine which site has the best rating to return as the result. The others are noted, but not displayed as high as the initial result.

4) Why would it be a good idea to submit the same article to dozens of different sites.
Well I would warn against submitting the content from your site as the article. If you did this, it’s possible the search engines would see your site as not the best possible display, and display someone else’s site with your content.

I would however advise on submitting articles on the same topic as your website, but not the same content as your site itself. This way your site is seen as the expert since you will have a large number of sites linking back to your site, on the topic of what your site is about. Those links will in turn boost your search engine rankings, and provide numerous pathways for visitors to make it back to your site. That is really what you want in the first place, correct.

5) How often are the article sites update?
